A visually and structurally difficult task, the Foiler 40’ project involved the expansive search for special steels that guarantee certainties for a hybrid boat that can fly over the water at 40 knots. The ST Yachts studio, with engineers Davide Tagliapietra and Doug Schickler, while complicating my life a bit, served as a great experience that helped me with the future. Useful for future jobs, we worked on foiling motor boats and sailing, which developed considerable speeds and put equally important loads and stress on the structures. A challenge won.
